Dietary Herbal Supplement for Pregnancy Related Nausea (Morning Sickness)
Dr. Michele Brown OB/GYN, Founder Beauté de Maman

What is Morning Sickness?

Nausea and vomiting are extremely common and occurs in 50-80% of pregnant women. Morning sickness is the term used to denote the nauseated feeling you get during pregnancy. Morning sickness can be, but is not always, accompanied by vomiting. Women often experience nausea in the early stages of pregnancy. In most cases, the symptoms are mild, transient and easily managed by dietary modifications. In some cases however, the symptoms are severe. Relentless vomiting can last the entire pregnancy and be associated with dehydration and weight loss.

Finally! Rapid Relief from Morning Sickness... Without Drugs

The Beauté de Maman Dietary Herbal Supplement for Morning Sickness capsules have been designed to insure rapid absorption. You'll feel fast relief in just 5 minutes! No more nausea, no more dizziness, no more morning sickness!

This unique all natural dietary herbal supplement combines four effective ingredients: Vitamin B6, Vitamin D, Ginger & Lime, in one easy-to-swallow capsule. Each of these ingredients are known for their anti-nausea properties. Due to the sensitivity that many pregnant women have to taste and smell, the capsules are tasteless and odorless. No more sucking on spicy pieces of ginger or super-sour lime wedges.

Beauté de Maman follows the prestigious American College of OB/GYN Guidelines (ACOG) for natural remedies in pregnancy. All good obstetricians follow and trust these guidelines when making recommendations to their patients, and there is no better source for obstetricians to find information about state-of-the-art research and current safety studies.

The Beauté de Maman Dietary Herbal Supplement for Morning Sickness was developed by Dr. Michele Brown, an experienced obstetrician, using ACOG research and safety studies, to ensure a safe product.

Ingredients

  • Ginger

Ginger has been used for thousands of years in many countries such as Rome, Greece, India, and Arabia for digestive disorders. The use of ginger has also been recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists as a safe and effective first line therapy to reduce morning sickness associated with pregnancy. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) has also been considered safe by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

  • Vitamin D

Vitamin D is essential for absorption of calcium that is critical for skeletal development in the fetus. Many pregnant women, especially those with nausea and vomiting are deficient in Vitamin D, despite taking prenatal vitamins. Vitamin D is produced by the skin during exposure to sunlight.

  • Vitamin B6

The ingestion of vitamin B6 has oft been said to alleviate some of the many symptoms of morning sickness during pregnancy. A lack of vitamin B6 has been shown to increase the occurrence of headaches and nausea due to MSG as well as alcoholic hangovers (Do not drink alcohol while you're pregnant). Vitamin B6 is prevalent in whole grain foods, as well as meats & fish.

  • Lime

Lime extract is known for its anti-nausea effects, and has been used as a home remedy for nauseousness for centuries.

The New England Journal of Medicine

The Efficacy of Ginger & Vitamin B6 for the Treatment of Pregnancy Related Nausea

The New England Journal of Medicine, one of the most prestigious medical journal in the world, recently pulished an article on the treatment of morning sickness during pregnancy (Nausea and Vomiting in Pregnancy by Jennifer R. Niebyl, Vol. 363, October 14, 2010). Below are a number of findings from the peer reviewed article.

  • Ginger and Vitamin B6 are the most effective, first line remedy for pregnancy related nausea.
  • Randomized, placebo controlled trials have shown effectiveness of vitamin B6 (10-25 mg every 8 hours) in the treatment of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.
  • Oral Vitamin B6 has been studied in more than 6,000 patients and controls with no evidence of teratogenicity. In these randomized trials, Vitamin B6 has been associated with 70% reduction in nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.
  • Randomized, double-blind trials have provided support for the benefit of Ginger in the management of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy.
  • In four randomized trials with a total of 675 participants, Ginger in capsules (tasteless) was superior to placebo and in two trials, the efficacy of Ginger was similar to that of vitamin B6.
  • Furthermore, Ginger was not associated with other clinically significant side effects or with any increased risk of an adverse pregnancy outcome. Ginger is considered to be a food supplement and NOT a drug.
  • Conclusion: A pregnant woman should use Ginger and Vitamin B6 combined in an odorless, tasteless gel capsule as a first line remedy for nausea and vomiting in pregnancy. If this fails to relieve the symptoms, prescription medications can be considered.
